RyanCentral Organizes Charity Drive in Memory of Twisten, Former Valorant Pro

Ryan ‘RyanCentral’ Horton, a VCT EMEA Valorant analyst, has organized a charity contribution drive in memory of Karel ‘Twisten’ Aenbrener, a former Valorant pro who passed away. Before he passed away on June 7, Team Vitality Valorant pro-Twisten organized a charity drive for the VCT LOCK//IN tournament. The industry donated €25 to an animal welfare charity for each kill made with the Shorty shotgun sidearm during the competition. Twisten passed away on June 7. RyanCentral, a VCT EMEA television commentator, has started a similar fundraising drive in honor of Twisten for the VCT Masters Tokyo tournament that is now taking place.

Following Twisten’s passing, numerous members of the Valorant community indicated an interest in conducting a donation drive analogous to the one that had been started in his memory on Pledge It. As a result, the industry was established. Community members can make a one-time donation to the cause or contribute a predetermined amount for each Shorty kill they achieve at Masters Tokyo. The donated money will be pledged to an organization called Rise Above the Disorder, which is trying to improve access to mental health care.

The fundraising page created in honor of Twisten can now be accessed

RyanCentral explained that Twisten contributed €1,450 based on 58 Shorty kills from VCT LOCK//IN in a video and writeup on the donation page. Donors should be able to use that metric to estimate how much money they can contribute if they donate per sidearm kill during the Masters Tokyo tournament. The amount of money expected to be presented been set at $5,000, and the fundraising page will stay active for a few weeks after the event so that individuals can change their pledges or add to what they have already given.

The passing of Twisten was noted at the beginning of the VCT Masters Tokyo broadcast by Riot Games. Hosts Yinsu ‘Yinsu’ Collins and Alex ‘Goldenboy’ Mendez paid tribute to the player in an introductory part of the show. The playoff stage of the competition is scheduled to begin on July 15, and it will comprise an additional 14 matches in which players will have the opportunity to rack up Shorty kills.
