Rising Star Alert: Sean Gares Hails ZmjjKK as Valorant’s Future Superstar

Sean Gares, the head coach of 100 Thieves and a former CS:GO pro, recently touted EDward Gaming Valorant player Zheng ‘ZmjjKK’ Yongkang as the future superstar based on his showing at the VCT Masters Tokyo. ZmjjKK’s unique mechanics and stage antics have propelled him swiftly to stardom in the Valorant community. Many observers have been following the progress of the Chinese team for over a year on the international scene, and they have noticed the Chinese sniper and Edward Gaming as a whole.

The gregarious and mechanically adept Valorant player has been chosen as the sport’s next big star by one analyst, Sean Gares. On a Daring Minds episode, Gares commented, “This guy is a legit superstar.” He’s the kind of player that won’t miss a shot and will show emotion after making a fantastic clutch.

The next big thing in Valorant music could be ZmjjKK

It took a while before Edward Gaming and ZmjjKK became popular. Although Valorant has yet to be released in mainland China, esports organizations have had teams competing for over two years. At Valorant Champions 2022, Chinese Valorant and ZmjjKK were finally available to fans. However, EDG was eliminated from the group round competition quite quickly. The team would participate in the international competition again this year at VCT LOCK//IN, but they were also eliminated very quickly, following just one series.

EDG appeared to have improved their performance at VCT Masters Tokyo, as they were able to advance to the playoff round and give China its first victories on a significant international platform. It’s coming; I swear I can see it. I can see it taking place. I can see the growth from last year, when I was teaching 100 Thieves at Champions, to this year, when I watched them play LOCK//IN. I’m thinking; there’s just no way they won’t be like in the top four of every event in a year,” Gares stated about Edward Gaming.

When EDG and ZmjjKK face LOUD in the bottom bracket of VCT Masters Tokyo on June 17, viewers will have to wait and watch if they can maintain their fast-paced playstyle and mechanical prowess on the international stage.
