Game-Breaking UAV Bug in Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer: TheXclusiveAce Uncovers Serious Issue
An expert on Modern Warfare 2, known as TheXclusiveAce, found a game-breaking UAV problem following the Season 4 update, and he highlighted the reasons why it is such a significant issue. In Modern Warfare 2, the developers made a contentious decision to remove red dots from the minimap during multiplayer battles when a UAV is not present. In earlier Call of Duty games, a red dot would appear on the map to indicate their location whenever an opponent discharged an unsuppressed weapon.
Community members roundly criticized the choice, but Infinity Ward stood by it and explained that they didn’t “want to punish players for firing their weapons.” The developers also intended players to be more reactive rather than spending a whole battle simply chasing red dots around the map. Due to a flaw, excessive dependence on UAVs as a source of intelligence has become a big problem in Season 4. The bug prohibits the UAVs from functioning correctly.
UAV bug plagues Modern Warfare 2 matches played in multiplayer mode
The XclusiveAce provided an explanation regarding the malfunctioning of UAVs in Season 4. The ability to track an enemy’s movement in real-time as they move across the battlefield is exclusive to Advanced UAVs; yet, due to a flaw, even ordinary UAVs can do so as well. Because it only takes three kills to earn a basic UAV, but it requires 12 kills to gain an Advanced UAV, this presents a problem. To make matters even worse, the bug behaves unpredictably and arises at random. This defect is much more severe than anticipated because it behaves inconsistently. It does not apply to all matches, and I cannot determine whether or not the UAV is functioning correctly during a given battle.
The XclusiveAce uncovered three distinct UAV patterns, and none worked correctly. The UAV is designed to provide a brief snapshot of the adversary’s location, yet the kill streak seems to be broken in a manner that is different for each battle. “As of right now, this is the most serious issue plaguing Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, and it needs to be fixed.” The most frustrating thing for the YouTuber is that he needs to know whether or not a UAV is operating correctly or whether or not other gamers have an advantage due to the tracking UAV. To remain unnoticed by UAVs in the absence of an official patch, the best players can do for the time being is equip the Ghost perk.
