Swagg, a member of the FaZe crew, lashed out at Activision for its decision to shut down Warzone Caldera, calling it “mindblowing” that players will be forced to forfeit all of the cosmetics they have purchased in the game. Activision announced that it would be discontinuing support for Warzone Caldera on June 22. The first iteration of Warzone, released in March 2020 and quickly established as a staple of the battle royale genre, will no longer be playable as of September 21, 2023.
Activision announced in their announcement that the original Warzone would be discontinued so that the game’s developers could concentrate all of their work on the Warzone free-to-play experience that is now available. Complaints Regarding the Warzone Swagg stated that it was “mindblowing” that they were closing down Warzone 1 with all the skins they had purchased. However, they are still able to play Blackout.”
Blackout was the first attempt by Call of Duty to create a battle royale mode for its multiplayer mode. It was a game mode that supported Solos, Duos, and Quads and was introduced in 2019 alongside Black Ops 4. The number of participants in each match ranged from 88 to 100. Blackout may still be played even though it is a year older than the first iteration of Warzone, and developer Treyarch has not disclosed any intentions to remove the mode from the game. Also, in response to the initial statement, Call of Duty content creator Swagg continued to vent his fury by saying, “RIP to movement forever,” on Twitter.
Movement in Warzone 2 has been a contentious issue ever since the game was released, with many players claiming that it was slowed down an excessive amount compared to its predecessor. Even after these adjustments, the overall speed is still significantly slower than that of Warzone Caldera. Season 3 saw the mobility being altered to be faster, but even after these improvements, the overall pacing is still significantly slower than Warzone Caldera.
