Pokemon Go Special Trade Glitch: Niantic Addresses Issue and Enhances Seasonal Bonus as Compensation

Niantic has recognized a problem in Pokemon Go that causes monsters that evolved in 2023 to be treated as Special Trades. As compensation, Niantic has pledged to enhance the ongoing seasonal bonus. Trainers are anxious to take advantage of the incentives offered throughout Pokemon Go’s Axew Community Day event, which is presently held for June 2023 and hosted by the game Pokemon Go.

One benefit is enabling participants to carry out an additional Special Trade once every 24 hours. Unfortunately, a severe problem has surfaced recently, and its immediate impact on this bonus. Niantic has officially admitted that the flaw exists and stated that the company’s development team is working to find a fix. A few extras are being offered to gamers by the developer to ease their frustration while they wait for the issue to be rectified.

The glitch in Pokemon Go’s Special Trade

According to the Twitter account for Niantic Support, the video game developer is “currently investigating” a glitch that resulted in Pokemon that evolved in 2023 being incorrectly labeled as Special Trade.

A standard trade in Pokemon Go costs less Stardust than a Special Trade, which centers around exchanging Pokemon that satisfy specified criteria but costs more Stardust overall. Even though increasing the Friendship Level between two Trainers can bring the cost of Stardust down, the price of Special Trades will never be lower. Because not every Pokemon that evolved in 2023 will match the requirements for a Special Trade, trainers who want to trade will have to spend more money than necessary. This is an irritating issue.

Niantic did, however, provide players with a handful of perks to lessen the annoyance that this glitch caused. To begin, the Axew Community Day benefit of “one additional Special Trade for a max of three for the day” has been expanded to five total Special Trades and will continue to do so through June 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time. This bonus will also be available during those same hours.

In addition, the seasonal bonus currently “one additional Special Trade per day” will have its value boosted to “three additional Special Trades for a total of four per day” until the issue with the Special Trade glitch has been fixed. Even if it’s frustrating, it’s lovely to see that the developer of Pokemon Go is communicating quickly and offering some compensation for the problem.
