Pokemon Go Players Displeased with Niantic’s Troublesome Campfire App Launch

Players of Pokemon Go are not pleased with Niantic’s unexpected introduction of Campfire because many have complained that the app has several issues that are pretty annoying. After the news that Remote Raid Passes would be receiving a significant amount of balance changes, it would appear that the developer of Pokemon Go, Niantic, has thrown gamers another surprise.

Niantic stealthily released their much-anticipated Campfire app to the general public on April 5, 2023, the day before the developer deployed the adjustments to the Remote Raid Pass. Unfortunately, some sections of the player base have yet to warmly receive the unexpected launch, as many users have run into problems with the app. These problems range from bugs to the app just not loading at all.

Fans of Pokemon Go who are dissatisfied with the Niantic Campfire app

Fans of Pokemon Go have flocked to social media channels such as Twitter and Reddit to discuss their initial encounters with the Pokemon Go app, some of which have not been positive.

Several Campfire users have reported having problems with the application on Twitter, such as the app unexpectedly shutting them out while they were using it or suffering prolonged load times.

After one trainer highlighted issues with non-local persons filling group possibilities, other trainers on the TheSilphRoad subreddit have also shared problems with the program. “I have made numerous attempts to become involved with the community here in Hawaii… Individuals attempting to collect Vivillions from off-island have completely overrun every group I’ve joined, regardless of their size.

This problem is not specific to any one place, as evidenced by the fact that a large number of players from all over the world have already encountered identical circumstances. “Same problem in Israel (Sandstorm). The inundation of Vivillion requests in every campfire community has made this feature entirely ineffective.

For those unaware, Campfire is a social software that Niantic built. Its purpose is to assist players of Pokemon Go in coordinating with one another to complete in-person raid events in public places. It is pretty likely that these are merely some of the growing pains that come along with the app’s complete and widespread release to the general public. The app’s malfunction on the same day when Remote Raid Passes became more difficult to obtain would understandably annoy players.
