Chasing Legends: Pokemon Go Special Research Tasks and Rewards

Here are the activities and awards you can earn during the Pokemon Go Chasing Legends Special Research quest, which has begun for some trainers.

For those who purchased tickets, the Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn has begun. This year’s event includes a brand-new Chasing Legends Special Research task involving Rhi from the Ultra Recon Team. When the Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Global event starts on February 25, this Special Research mission will be accessible to players worldwide, but for now, here is what players in Las Vegas can anticipate.

Hunting Legends in Pokemon Go: Extraordinary Research Tasks

Step 1 of 6

• 15 instances of Pokemon power-ups 
• Three incense branching options Decide between Cacnea, Surskit, or Gulpin.

Rewards: Absol encounter, five Kyogre candies, and five Groudon candies

Step 2 of 6

• Employ a Gulpin, Surskit, or Acne encounter incense
• Capture 5 Gulpin, Surskit, and Cacnea; meet Gulpin, Surskit, and Cacnea
• Catch 10 different Pokemon species, including Gulpin, Surskit, and Acnea

Rewards: 2 Premium Battle Passes, 30 Poke Balls, and 5 Ultra Balls.

Step 3 of 6

• Pokestops and Gyms, Spin 15: Plusle encounter
• Explore 1 kilometers and encounter Solrock
• Capture 10 Pokemon of the Fire, Grass, or Ground types – engage with Trapinch
• Catch one Groudon-Volbeat battle.

Rewards: Sunny Form Castform encounter, 10 Groudon candies, and 200 Groudon Primal Energy (Ruby Ticket).

Step 4 of 6

• Pokestops and gyms on Spin 15: Minun encounter
• 1 km of exploration ends with a lunar encounter
• Capture ten Pokemon of the Water, Electric, or Insect types – Wailmer encounter
• 1 Kyogre-Illumise encounter captured

Rewards: encounter with Rainy Form Castform, 10 Kyogre Candy, and 200 Kyogre Primal Energy (Sapphire Ticket)

Step 5 of 6

• Go Rocket Leader – 3 Revive Primal Reversion 
• 1 Rocket Radar Destroy a Team

Rewards: 1 Speedy TM and 1 Charged TM

Step 6 of 6

• Claim Reward! – 2023 XP
• Claim Reward! – 2023 Stardust

Reward: Spinda sighting

The Special Research quest has no expiration date, so you can finish it whenever you choose after claiming it.
