Minnesota RKKR Shuffles Lineup in Pursuit of CDL Championship Qualification

Amid fierce competition for the last available spot in the CDL Championships, the Minnesota RKKR has made several changes to its lineup in preparation for Major V.

AFTER SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDING THEIR SPOTS, five CDL teams will compete in the CDL Championship weekend. The last three berths are currently up for grabs, and four groups are vying for positions to claim them. With a total of 160 CDL points, Minnesota is now in the part of having the final qualification berth. The only thing between Vegas and a trip to play in front of its home crowd is a deficit of ten points. Before a crucial stretch of matches, the RKKR reshuffled the deck because they could feel the Legion breathing down their neck.

Attach rejoins Minnesota RØKKR

On May 16, the Minnesota RKKR announced that Dillon ‘Attach’ Price will be replacing Marcus ‘Afro’ Reid in the starting lineup.  Attach was removed from the RKKR lineup after the team finished last in all five Major III Qualifier matches and did not defeat the LA Thieves in a single map during the Major IV tournament.

After making those changes to their lineup, Minnesota finished in the top six at Major IV and has a 1-2 record in Major V Qualifiers. Most recently, Vegas defeated Minnesota in a devastating five-map series, placing the squads’ chances of qualifying for CDL Champs at risk.

Before joining Minnesota ahead of the start of the MW2 season, Afro had an outstanding solo campaign with the London Royal Ravens in the game Call of Duty: Vanguard. The hyper-aggressive SMG player had a fantastic statistical season 2023, ranking in the top half of most statistical categories. His rating was impressive.

Attach possesses a significant amount of championship pedigree, which is required for the decisive run of matches that must be won. In Call of Duty: Vanguard, he began his career as an SMG player but later switched to the AR role. During the last weekend of Qualifier matches, Minnesota will compete against the Los Angeles Thieves and the Toronto Raptors. This will put the long-time CDL veteran right back into the middle of the action.
