Dash Returns to Riot Games as Anchor for Valorant Champions Tour LOCK/IN Tournament

A month after leaving the North American league broadcast, James “Dash” Patterson, the former desk host for the LCS. It has been named as one of three to anchor the analyst desk for the Valorant Champions Tour LOCK/IN tournament. Dash made the news in January 2023 that he would not return to the League of Legends Championship Series broadcast. As a desk presenter, he had missed the first week of matches.

According to Riot and Dash, the former host is one of the few producers who can co-stream LCS this season. His involvement in the show will be scaled back. Also, he will concentrate more on the material captured on the ground.

According to an announcement by Riot Games on January 31. Dash will be one of the three desk hosts for the VCT LOCK/IN event. Although it is scheduled to get underway on February 13. Play in the tournament will start on that date. In addition to Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez and Yinsu “Yinsu” Collins, more players are slated to participate in the competition.

He is no stranger to VCT broadcasts; in 2020. He served as host of the North American First Strike event, and in 2021. Also, he participated in every international esports show. Dash stated that he would search for employment in Valorant esports in 2023 during a live stream after announcing his departure from the LCS.

Dash Will Return to a Riot Games Broadcast

Most of Riot’s desk hosts at their international Valorant events were reliable in 2022. Yinsu participated in all three of the international tournaments, and Goldenboy took part in two of the three of those events. In addition, guest hosts Jacki Jing, and Chrissy Costanza were added to the cycle of hosting for Masters 1 and Valorant Champions 2022, respectively, as well.

Riot has also successfully recruited League of Legends casters that were still working for their respective regional leagues before joining Valorant. Rivington Bruce Bisland III in North America and Andrew “Vedius” Day in EMEA are two examples of this strategy that have been successful.

When the Riot Games esports championship broadcast begins on February 13, fans can watch Dash return to action in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the competition is being held.
