One month after leaving Disguised, former OpTic and Cloud9 star Jaccob ‘Yay‘ Whiteaker spoke about his broadcast about his heroic future. Since departing Disguised after the content creator-owned team was demoted from the North American Valorant Challengers League, yay has remained out of the public eye. However, the professional Valorant free agent has resumed streaming and has spoken with his audience about his plans.
Yay stated that his only goal is to compete, regardless of the locale, in a recent live broadcast while playing with fellow free agent Nicholas ‘nitr0’ Cannella. When asked whether he might play in VCT EMEA or VCT Pacific, Yay responded, “I’ll play anything now. I don’t care. I want to have fun. He said he is unsure of his professional next step because the free agency period won’t start until Valorant Champions is over, so he must wait along with the rest of tier 2 Valorant scene.
In a live stream, stalwart Yay discusses his future
The former Cloud9 player also discussed the VCT Americas LCQ game between Sentinels and 100 Thieves and how it might present opportunities for him and other free-agent players.

YAY, they explained the scenario to their audience. Because whoever loses the Sentinels vs. 100 Thieves game will be fired. I’m just waiting for it. So, spaces will become available. Even if the player was joking, Sentinels and 100 Thieves have a history of replacing their lineups after missing events or giving disappointing results. After a disappointing start to the VCT Americas tournament, Sentinels made a flurry of adjustments to their Valorant roster and staff this year.
But in 2023, 100 Thieves have yet to move around that much. The squad made no significant moves following their 2022 rebuild, which saw them almost completely overhaul their lineup until they signed Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban for the 2023 season. The professional community as a whole anticipates adjustments for both teams for the 2024 campaign as well as openings for players like Yay. To learn what team Yay and other elite players will be playing for in 2024, devoted fans must wait until the free-agency window opens at the end of August.
