Faker Takes a Break from Competition to Recover from Arm Injury: T1’s Star Mid Laner’s Absence Raises Concerns
Faker will be taking a vacation from the competition as he heals from an arm injury, according to T1. The Korean mid-laner claimed that the issue has significantly hampered his ability to play to the extent that he has postponed upcoming streams and sought medical attention. Due to an arm injury that, in his words, has had “a big impact” on his recent performances. Faker will not compete versus DRX on July 5. The Korean star claims he has had to play through arm pain since the encounter against BRION on June 17. A statement from T1 indicating that Faker “will take a temporary break due to his injury, starting with today’s match against DRX” was made an hour before the match against DRX was set to begin.
Faker won’t be streaming this month, T1 said earlier this week, citing “wrist pain.” The hospital arm scans that Faker had performed, according to the South Korean organization, revealed “no major abnormalities.”
The decision was reached for him to take a break to concentrate on his treatment and recovery after conversations with the coaches, players, and team, T1 added. The length of Faker’s absence is still being determined. However, T1 reported that the player is concentrating on healing “to make his return to the regular season of the 2023 LCK Summer Split.” Bae ‘Bengi’ Seong-wrong, the head coach of T1, stated that Faker would be sidelined for “at least two weeks.” He said, “We’ll see how it goes. Faker will be competing for South Korea in the 2022 Asian Games, which will begin on September 23.
Who will fill in for Faker while he is injured?
Faker was replaced by Yoon ‘Poby’ Seong-won as the mid-laner for T1 Challengers in today’s series versus DRX, which was disastrous for T1. In the LCK CL 2023 Summer, where T1 Challengers are in last place with a 2-7 record, the 17-year-old, who graduated from T1’s academy, is averaging a KDA of 1.6.
Wolf ‘Wolf’ Schröder, an LCK colorcaster, has questioned Poby’s capacity to contend in the league. Wolf described Poby as “pretty green” on the “Monte & Wolf Show,” to put it politely. “He is not very good. He is a weak player who practically everyone in his lane destroys. His team fights could be better. With a 6-3 record, T1 is now third in the LCK Summer standings. The team’s match against Gen.G, still unbeaten in this split, is set for July 8.
