Even though Warzone Season 4 has only been up for a few days, Fifakill is already concerned that one-shot snipers and fire shotguns may be too powerful in Ranked Play. During that brief period, the KV Broadside Shotgun had a stronghold on Warzone’s meta. Players discovered that the lethal shotgun could kill foes with just two bullets each when equipped with the Dragon’s Breath attachment.
After members of the community learned about the shotgun’s “broken” power, they demanded that it be nerfed. In response, Infinity Ward made several adjustments to the KV Broadside shotgun in the Season 2 Reloaded update. However, as part of the Season 4 update, the developers decided to buff shotguns, which surprised some players in the community. The restoration of the class to its previous glory, in conjunction with the introduction of one-shot sniper guns, has the Warzone pro-Fifakill in an uproar.
Shotguns and one-shot snipers dominate Warzone’s fourth season’s meta
When asked about his initial thoughts on the Warzone Ranked Play mode introduced in Season 4, Fifakill didn’t hold back. According to the professional Warzone player, “1 shot sniper/ fire shotty meta is killing ranked play right now.” In Season 4, the minimum damage that the KV Broadside can deal was reduced, while the close-range damage that the 12 Gauge Dragon’s Breath attachment deals were somewhat boosted. Due to the update, the KV Broadside now has a more extended two-shot kill range; however, we do not yet have accurate statistics for this statistic.
The most recent seasonal update included a change that provided sniper guns with an indirect improvement. The player’s health has been boosted from 100 to 150, bringing the maximum health a player can have up to 300 when fully armored. This indicates that more shots are required to kill an opponent. On the other hand, sniper rifles can still kill an adversary with just one shot if used correctly to aim for the head. Therefore, in theory, an accurate sniper should be able to remove foes considerably more quickly than another type of weapon.
The MCPR-300 sniper is currently the third most popular weapon in Warzone, according to WZ Ranked, and the KV Broadside has returned to the seventh spot in the rankings. The Cronen Squall and the Lachmann Sub both have comfortable leads, but watching how long those advantages continue to hold up throughout this season will be interesting.
