Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel attempted to sneak into Ice Spices’ Direct Messages using ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model. ChatGPT has quickly gained notoriety among streaming communities as an entertaining means for creating humorous or amusing messages for other streamers, which we will examine in more depth as part of this article.
On March 30th, xQc attempted to use ChatGPT to gain entry to Ice Spice’s Direct Messages (DMs). He wrote “Hello!” into ChatGPT before allowing it to generate any text for him, which produced an email with this text: “Hi! I am such a fan of your stream and think you are amazing; perhaps sometime would we play some games together??”
Ice Spices was not overjoyed to receive his email and responded, “Who tf are u.” Thus xQc’s attempt at initiating conversations using ChatGPT failed utterly.
ChatGPT in the Streaming Community
Although unsuccessful at times, has nonetheless become an invaluable part of streaming community culture. ChatGPT messages also often serve as a funny means of playing practical jokes on other streamers since their messages can often seem unpredictable.
ChatGPT was developed by OpenAI and built upon GPT-3.5 architecture to produce human-like text based on the input provided. For instance, streamers may input an initial message starter before ChatGPT completes it using training data from its training database.
ChatGPT Goes Viral: Pokimane’s Adoption and YouTube Video
ChatGPT was initially adopted by streamer Pokimane who featured it in a YouTube video showing how she used this to send messages to Disguised Toast and Sykkuno, amongst other streamers.
Few streamers have voiced concerns regarding ChatGPT’s use, as its generated messages could potentially be offensive and inappropriate. Users need to utilize it responsibly without abusing it to harass other streamers or engage in bullying activities with ChatGPT.
Although xQc’s attempt at entering Ice Spices’ Direct Messages using ChatGPT was ultimately unsuccessful, becoming a common way for streamers to initiate conversations. Streamers must use ChatGPT responsibly – not for bullying of other streamers but instead innovatively that builds strong bonds among streamers!
