Youtuber Crowbcat’s “Soulless” Comparison of Resident Evil 4 Remake Receives Backlash and Title Change
In a video dubbed “soul vs. soulless Resident Evil 4 comparison” that YouTuber Crowbcat posted, the Resident Evil 4 remake was shown in a way that some viewers felt was compared differently to the two games. In the YouTube world, Crowbcat is a unicorn. Instead of employing commentary to support their claims, they combine video snippets with minor editing and couple them with a title that tries to convey their message.
Compared to most of the other artists on the network, it’s an unconventional strategy, but their infrequent uploads consistently receive millions of views. There is masking a market for their straightforward yet effective method of content development. However, Crowbcat’s comparison of Resident Evil 4 to the original in a video has undoubtedly stirred up debate. People viewed the nearly 40-minute comparison video with skepticism and voiced their complaints about the parallels after dubbing the game “soulless” under a title Crowbcat has now changed.
Crowbcat, a YouTuber, retracts the “soulless” comparison
Their version of Resident Evil 4 has been a prevalent issue among fans of the Resident Evil series as a result by the hundreds of thousands of views it has received in less than 24 hours.
The vast majority of players and critics praised the remake. Hence their opinion that the video game was “soulless” stood out from the pack. Unsurprisingly, they received some backlash for criticizing one of the games with the best ratings for 2023. However, the lengthy comparison video’s viewers were dissatisfied with some of the ways the remake was shown and said Crowbcat for coming to a “disingenuous” conclusion.
The ambient noise, which is hard to hear in Crowbcat’s video, is very much present with properly tuned audio settings, according to GmanLives, which makes a subtle but noticeable difference in the presentation of the game. The “soulless” defense initially persuaded some people because of the stark contrast in the atmosphere, but after hearing the whole audio, some people’s opinions were altered. The way Ashley, Leon’s companion for most of the game, was portrayed in his video is another major complaint the community has with it. It was suggested that Resident Evil 4 had a soul in part because players could peer up her skirt and elicit a response from her.
Since then, Crowbcat has changed the title and description of their Resident Evil 4 comparison video, calling it a “masterpiece” rather than promoting the story’s soullessness. People are now criticizing them for deviating from the original take and choosing to change the title of the video without changing any of its content.
