XDefiant Surpasses Call of Duty in Twitch Popularity Despite Being in Closed Beta

Even though XDefiant is only available to players through a limited beta, it has already surpassed Call of Duty in popularity on Twitch. With the release of its newest game, XDefiant, which takes place in the Tom Clancy universe, Ubisoft is making its long-awaited comeback to the first-person shooter (FPS) genre. Before the game was released, fans had referred to XDefiant as a “promising competitor” to Call of Duty. This has caused many heads to turn.

The game already delivers a large number of features that have been absent from Call of Duty in the most recent video games; in fact, the community has been pleading for many of these features to be added for years, despite the fact that the game is just in its closed beta phases. Players have given Ubisoft’s XDefiant a lot of positive feedback, particularly regarding the game’s smooth and fluid movement, its abundance of brightly colored levels, and its lack of skill-based matchmaking. The players are particularly thrilled with the exciting “arcade-like” gameplay, which also has a vintage flavor.

Viewership on Twitch is dominated by the XDefiant closed beta

Since XDefiant is currently the most-watched game on Twitch, it is finally receiving the acclaim it deserves. The game has already surpassed Call of Duty in terms of popularity.

After only two days after the debut of the closed beta, XDefiant has quickly made its way to the top of the directory on Twitch. The first-person shooter, which maintains a readership of approximately 50,000, has already surpassed the combined viewership of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in terms of total viewership.

Even though the figures are pretty close, XDefiant has comfortably reached 45 thousand watchers on Twitch as of the time this article was written. While this is going on, Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 continue to attract only 31,000 and 11,000 viewers, respectively. “This is just gruesome. According to what one supporter has written, the XDefiant Closed Beta has a larger audience than both Warzone and MW2 put together.

Even though XDefiant will be available later in 2023, the game already has all the makings of a hit, provided that the developers at Ubisoft live up to their promise of maintaining open lines of communication with the game’s audience. You can try your luck and sign up for a chance to go via the game’s closed beta if you have a hard time waiting for the game’s full release.
