The Hunt for Togepi and Snorlax Squishmallows: Pokemon Fans’ Collection Obsession

Fans of Pokemon are willing to deplete their money to complete their collections with a Togepi or Snorlax Squishmallow. On the other hand, fans residing in the United States responded negatively to the disheartening news that the plushes would not be arriving until later.

Gengar and Pikachu were presented to the public for the first time as Squishmallows by The Pokemon Center in November 2022. The two plush toys were gone within an hour of their being on sale online. In the spring of 2023, the firm replenished its supply of Gengar and Pikachu, but they were quickly taken off the stores once more.

On March 20, Pokemon lovers who wanted a chance to buy a Snorlax or Togepi Squishmallow readied themselves in advance to engage in a bloody battle to the death. Plush fans are only allowed to buy one Togepi and one Snorlax due to their combined height and price of 12 inches and 25.99 pounds, respectively. As of writing, the Squishmallows were only available on the website of The Pokemon Center in the United Kingdom; the release date in the United States is still to be established.

The Togepi and Snorlax Squishmallow Drop is met with reactions from Pokemon lovers.

Cosyabbi, a user on Twitter, reacted to the update by stating that there wasn’t much she wouldn’t do to have her “grubby little gremlin hands on the Togepi one.” She said this in response to the fact that the update had been released. Veryhotcheetos highlighted his dissatisfaction with the fact that the Squishmallows were only available in the United Kingdom prior to their release in the United States. It states it will be available in the United States soon, but I don’t know if that means today or tomorrow. Chasebut asked.

SquishCollect reported that Hot Topic had the Snorlax plush listed on their website on March 15, despite the fact that The Pokemon Center officially confirmed the availability of the Togepi and Snorlax Squishmallows on March 20. According to reports, the 10-inch model was purchased entirely in three minutes.

Build-a-Bear and The Pokémon Company have worked together on a number of occasions in the past to produce collectible stuffed animals such as Charmander, Mew, and Scorbunny. The final member of the Eeveelution lineup, Sylveon, was introduced by Build-a-Bear in January of 2023.

The package included the Sylveon plush, a 5-in-1 sound button, a cape resembling a fairy, and sleeper pajamas with Sylveon, all of which cost $72. Build-a-Bear also sold boxes that each contained a Teddiursa or Giant Snorlax plush toy. Buyers of the 24-inch Snorlax set are to pay an additional $99.50 for the plush toy with the Pokemon’s extra-large sleep set.
