Stewie2K auditions for Disguised Valorant team alongside yay, but is not selected

Jake “Stewie2K” Yip, a former competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, announced on his stream that he had auditioned for the team Disguised alongside Jaccob “Yay” Whiteaker. Jake also detailed the teams that were in contact with him.

According to Stewie2K, the Valorant roster for the Disguised team may have benefited from adding another well-known athlete. The player that won the ELEAGUE CS:GO Major 2018 disclosed on his stream that he was participating in a test match with Disguised alongside Yay as the team prepared for the NA Challengers Split 2 tournament. Stewie2K was approached by Disguised coach Kyle ‘OCEAN’ O’Brien about testing out for the team as he was considering an offer from FaZe Clan.

“Knowing them more made me feel a little more comfortable,” Stewie2K said. “It made me feel a little more at ease.” After that, they asked me to try, and I trialed with them for two days; I performed very well throughout our time together. Also, After the problem, I contacted Yay to understand his thoughts on me, and he provided some helpful feedback. Because they were all veterans of the CS:GO scene before switching to Valorant, Stewie2K has ties with Yay, OCEAN, and Disguised in-game captain Joshua’steel’ Nissan. Stewie2K is a member of Valorant.

On Disguised, Stewie2K and yes could have worked together as a team

Stewie2K mentioned that Yay was interested in playing alongside him, but the squad was also testing out other players at the time. At some point, OCEAN told him that it was doubtful he would be selected.

“I think that me and yay would have been a good lineup,” he remarked.

Stewie2K stated that he turned down FaZe and his other offers and was ‘just happy to have gotten the opportunity’ to try out for Disguised.

The addition of yes to the Disguised roster, announced on April 10th, is a move that will be sure to attract increased interest to the Challengers competition. The team’s owner, Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang, has indicated that one more adjustment may be made before Split 2 begins. On April 20, Disguised will compete in their first match of the split, which will be against Oxygen Esports.
