A Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player observed that one of the game’s non-playable characters (NPCs) has a remarkable similarity to her fiance. Despite the fact that it has been out for a few months at this point, the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet game still manages to draw in new players.
One of these players trying it out for the first time saw something that made her laugh about one of the trainers who the players in the Montenevera Gym may battle. When one player’s fiance reminded her of MC Sledge, a trainer in the Ghost Pokemon-themed Gym, the player decided to make a side-by-side comparison of the two. It is difficult to deny the apparent similarity between the two.

In a post on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit uploaded by “mercy phoenix,” the trainer uploads a snapshot on their Switch that shows MC Sledge with their fiancé in the background. The following is what the post says: “When I first saw MC Sledge, I was so shocked that I almost fell out of my chair. My fiance (who is shown), who I am engaged to, thought it was hilarious.
Scarlet and Violet editions of Pokemon each come with their unique assortment of new Pokemon to capture, updated trainer models, and a plethora of references. A lot of people think that “MC Sledge” is just a simple reference to “MC Hammer.” Still, the comment area under the post claims that the model resembles ANOTHER person. One user wrote, “Hey there, moistcritikal,” pointing out how the fiance in question and MC Sledge resemble the well-known content creator MoistCr1TiKaL. “Hello there, moistcritikal,” the player continued.
The striking likeness between the individual depicted in the image and the character model for the trainer in the game has astounded other people. “He does not need to wear a costume in order to participate in cosplay. One person said that he already had the appropriate appearance. But still, another wrote, in a joking tone, “which ones are the fiance and which ones are the game?”
Discovering new and interesting NPCs in the gaming scene is always exciting, mainly when they help improve the overall experience. For some strange reason, MC Sled became a viral sensation shortly after the game’s release due to comparisons drawn between him and Moist. I’m glad to see the trainer get another 15 minutes of fame.
