After several error codes and problems with server instability were discovered, Bungie, the company that developed Destiny 2, decided to shut down the game for emergency maintenance temporarily. The content that is now available for players in Destiny 2 is called Season of the Deep. The game is currently in between several of its big patches. The Guardians will rediscover the depths of Titan throughout this season, which kicked off on May 23, 2023—meeting up again with Deputy Commander Sloane, who had assumed a more mature appearance this time around. Additionally, one of the most extensive cutscenes in the entire history of Destiny 2 was introduced with the release of Season of the Deep.
One of the most dangerous foes in the world of Destiny 2 is not the Witness or Calus but rather the numerous error messages that appear at random times throughout the game. Players are well aware of the error codes WEASEL, APPLE, and BABOON, which can cause them to become disconnected from the server. As a result of the recent rise in the number of error codes and the instability of the servers, Bungie has been forced to shut down Destiny 2’s online components.

Through the BungieHelp Twitter account, the company announced that the game would be taken offline for unexpected maintenance. During that period, the group would investigate the errors. They also claimed that they would keep gamers informed of any developments regarding the update as they continued to work on it.
“Due to unexpected maintenance, we have decided to take Destiny 2 offline as we evaluate a recent spike in various error codes and the server’s overall reliability. Within the next hour, another update will be released.” as indicated in the post. In the end, the developers were successful in making a breakthrough, which allowed them to bring the servers back online. The developers did confirm that they would keep working on the error codes in the future. “To continue our research into current issues with Destiny 2, we have decided to bring the game back online. Stay tuned for further developments.”
According to the tweet on Twitter, the servers can once again be accessed online. Bungie is committed to continuing its investigation into the underlying causes of these issues and will keep the player base informed as they obtain new information.
