Why Marved is replacing TenZ in Sentinels’ starting lineup for VCT Americas

Fans of the Sentinels could have missed the information that Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo is not currently listed in the team’s starting lineup. Here’s why Jimmy ‘Marved’ Nguyen will take his spot in VCT Americas. TenZ was suffering from an injured finger and a positive test result during Week 4 of the VCT Americas, so Sentinels brought Marved in. According to his fiancée, TenZ had been battling the injury for some time and had to play through it at the beginning of the breakup.

After Week 3 of the VCT Americas, Sentinels had a sixth player to take TenZ’s place. Hunter ‘SicK’ Mims, the team’s original sub, was suspended by the organization on March 4 after being accused of criminal trespassing. After being imprisoned for 11 days, SicK was later freed. On March 13, Sentinels acquired Marved, a professional Valorant who was taking a break, as their new replacement. However, the Canadian could only travel or take part in VCT Americas matches during Week 4 because he had yet to obtain a visa to work in the United States.

Marvel began Week 4 of VCT Americas in place of TenZ once he was permitted to travel. Adam ‘Kaplan’ Kaplan, the Sentinels’ new head coach, claimed in a video that the change will offer TenZ some much-needed downtime after playing through an illness and injuries.

Sentinels’ intentions for TenZ to split the rest of VCT Americas are not included

Marved helped the team to a 1-1 record during the VCT Americas super week with victories over MIBR and a narrow series loss to LOUD. Sentinels revealed on April 27 that Marved would remain in the starting lineup for the remainder of the VCT Americas split. Marvel appeared impressed with the lineup, according to Kaplan, who also said that after speaking with TenZ, he determined that the best course of action would be for the player to sit out the remainder of the split.

Marved was kept in the starting lineup due to the little break and the team’s ambition to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo, according to the coach. Sentinels have just four games left in VCT Americas to improve their record and secure a playoff position. With a 2-3 record as of this writing, the squad sits sixth in the league standings. TenZ is still on the roster and will remain with the squad throughout the split, despite the fact that Marved will finish the break. Kaplan confirmed this to the fans.
