NAVI Unveils European-Loaded CS:GO Lineup for Transition to CS2

As the Counter-Strike scene prepares to transition to CS2 this year, NAVI has unveiled its new CS:GO lineup, loaded with European talent. After a whirlwind of offseason movements hit the esport during the player break, NAVI revealed their new CS:GO lineup. In addition to the core of Ukrainian players, including the superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and the young Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi. The team now includes a mix of European talent.

Andrii ‘npl’ Kukharskyi, Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov, and Ilya ‘Perfecto’ Zalutskiy are no longer associated with NAVI, as it has previously revealed. NAVI included Perfecto and electroNic for around three and six years, respectively. The team’s march to the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 championship included both players. They are currently connected to join Cloud9. Also, Npl joined the main NAVI squad relatively recently after being called up from NAVI Junior in late 2022. The organization has chosen to field a mixed roster that includes Lithuanian rising talent Justinas ‘jL’ Lekavicius, Romanian rifler Mihai ‘iM’ Ivan, and Finnish IGL Aleksi ‘Aleksib’ Virolainen.

NAVI displays the updated CSGO roster

Since earning a name for himself with ENCE, Aleksib has moved among several elite European teams. He is a seasoned in-game captain. After a brief spell with G2 Esports, he was most recently with Ninjas in Pyjamas. He has yet to meet the lofty expectations his fame engenders despite his relative success with ENCE, and he will be attempting to do so once more with NAVI.

iM and jL are two younger tier-one players that gained recognition for their outstanding achievements at the BLAST Paris Major. I finished the competition in second place with GamerLegion and was among the best players, earning a 1.35 HLTV rating. jL participated in the same event as Apeks and aided the team in finishing in the top four. Also, the introduction of the new NAVI roster coincides with clubs wanting to bolster their rosters in preparation for the upcoming move to CS2 and the second half of the 2023 season. Information has yet to be provided by Valve regarding the precise date of the transition to the new game. The following Major, IEM Sydney 2023, has yet to decide whether it will be contested on CS2 or CS:GO.

As the team is scheduled to debut during BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023, fans can observe how this new NAVI roster functions. The current NAVI roster includes the following:

  • s1mple
  • b1t
  • Aleksib
  • jL
  • iM
  • Andrij ‘B1ad3’ Ghorodensjkyj (coach)
