Fortnite Star turned Valorant Pro Benjyfishy Joins Team Heretics for VCT EMEA Last Chance Qualifier

Team Heretics has signed Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish, a big name in Fortnite, for the VCT EMEA Last Chance Qualifier event. Team Heretics has revealed that they have signed benjyfishy, a former Fortnite star playing professional Valorant at the tier two level lately. Blix was the first to tell about the move in June.

Benjyfishy became well-known in 2018 as an excellent British player in Fortnite. In 2019, he signed with NRG Esports. In 2022, he stopped making material for NRG and went to work for Valiant. He then went pro, and in December of that year, he left NRG to play for Enterprise Esports in Challengers East: Surge. The Enterprise Esports team got into the VCT EMEA Ascension Play-In event because it came in second place in both of Surge’s splits, which gave it points. However, the team didn’t make it past the Play-In Stage because benjyfishy left to play for Heretics and was replaced by German player Maximilian ‘Bucher’ Bucher.

Team Heretics could have done better in VCT EMEA. The team came in eighth place, and Aleksander “Zeek” Zygmunt had to sit out the last three weeks of the season because “personality mismatches” made it impossible for him to play with the rest of the team. Heretics forgot to sign a sixth player for its Valorant team, so the team had to play its coach to meet the Riot Games lineup standards.

On June 6, Team Heretics took Zeek off its team. Riot Games rules say there isn’t a free agent window that would let sections sign players right now. Lembo, who works for the Spanish Valorant team, says that Riot has made an emergency roster lock exception to let Heretics sign benjyfishy to replace Zeek. With its newest member, Team Heretics will have one last chance to prepare for a big international event in the VCT EMEA LCQ tournament. On July 19, the team will face KOI in the first round.
