TSM Fans Demand Transparency on LCS Roster Decisions Amid Financial Difficulties
Fans of TSM have demanded that the organization provide at least some level of transparency regarding the decisions it makes regarding the LCS roster in light of recent reports that the firm is experiencing financial difficulties.
A supporter of the TSM organization voiced their need for more open communication from the organization regarding the goings-on behind the scenes with its League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) lineup in a post that was made on the TSM subreddit. The poster noted how TSM’s upper brass, specifically CEO Andy ‘Reginald’ Dinh and General Manager of Esports Jeff Chau, has supplied no “real info” regarding why the LCS roster is the way it is, despite opposing facts revealed by Travis Gafford, who is the content developer for the LCS. The poster explained how this is the case.
In the latter part of 2022, Reginald announced on the TSM subreddit that he intended to “double down” on the organization’s commitment to the LCS. Also, he then disclosed that such plans had been scrapped and promised an update would be forthcoming. He claimed “business/legal reasons” for his protracted silence. He had previously cited these reasons as the cause for his prolonged silence. According to a report published on the 31st of March by the Sports Business Journal. TSM is discontinuing several of its esports divisions as a result of the financial difficulties. According to the rumor, Team SoloMid may also be interested in selling its position in the LCS.
As the organization struggles financially, TSM fans have called for greater openness
On the TSM subreddit, the post has gained a lot of traction, with a number of fans agreeing with the need for transparency and others saying that the writing is on the wall for the LCS. Some fans have even suggested that the LCS should be disbanded.
What kind of openness are you looking for, exactly? The point has been made quite obvious. The situation at LCS is not ideal. “Perhaps things have not been made clear because you are unable to see that, and if that is the case, I apologize.” The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) has experienced poor viewership statistics across the board to begin the year 2023. Also, one of its founding teams, CLG, had its spot in the league recently taken over by NRG Esports.
TSM finished seventh place in the 2023 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split. Also, the team’s lineup consisted primarily of league and international journeymen who had received little praise in recent years. The speculated roster is not anticipated to represent a significant step forward for the Summer Split.
