A few things puzzled Zelda fans as much as obtaining Hestu’s Gift after defeating 900 Koroks in Breath of the Wild, and many are hoping that the pattern doesn’t continue in Tears of the Kingdom. Fans of The Legend of Zelda series were introduced to a wide range of new gameplay elements in Breath of the Wild, from its enormous open world to its personality-driven characters. However, there were still underappreciated aspects that the game added that players could have lived without in Tears of the Kingdom.
Unpettable pets were only one of the complaints from fans. In addition, some felt that Ganon’s final boss battle needed to be more complex than their previous experiences with the Divine Beasts. One Breath of the Wild flaw has endured the test of time: a bit of golden crap. The name of this dung is Hestu’s Gift. The reward players receive after successfully finding all 900 different Koroks and collecting their seeds. Zelda fans do not want to view Hestu’s Gift in Tears of the Kingdom since it appears to have sparked an all-encompassing reaction.
Tears of the Kingdom’s Hestu’s Gift are not what fans want
A fan made a graphic depicting the situation and posted it to Reddit to convey their disgust with the shining excrement. The artwork connected with the rest of the Zelda fanbase so well that it quickly took off on social media. It is simple to understand why.
The comic in the meme style accurately captures how each player felt after discovering every Korok seed. One fan remarked, “Literally me yesterday,” and another replied with the word, “Same.” The gift would certainly not be appreciated in Tears of the Kingdom; it would appear. A player made the joke funnier by remarking that the comic’s face reads, “That face says “It’s still…warm.” Then someone directly replied and made a joke about the “subtle dripping between the fingers.”
Another commentator thought deeply about the scenario and questioned how Link moves Hestu’s Gift. “I never considered this, but does Link… carry that…. in his pocket,” they wrote. People quickly responded, stating that Link’s inventory contained the golden poop on top of his food. The reward’s cultural and perhaps intentional resemblance to feces. The inspiration for Hestu’s Gift came from the lucky Japanese charm known as Kin no unko. The name of the appeal is a pun that combines the words “golden poo” with “good luck.” Hopefully, Tears of the Kingdom will reward players with something more… savory for their hard work.
