Pokemon Go Players Deem Game ‘Unplayable’ After Recent Update Causes Black Screen Glitch

Users call Pokemon Go “unplayable” since the most recent game update fixed a glitch that causes the whole screen to go black. Pokemon Go has been one of the most-played mobile games on Android and iOS devices since its release in 2016.

However, there have been specific issues, some of which have even resulted in creating a useless “ghost account.” Players have stated that Pokemon Go’s most recent problem prevents it from loading beyond the splash screen and instead shows nothing but blackness.

Pokemon Go’s black screen glitch is a problem

One of the first people to mention the Pokemon Go glitch was user kingladyslayer in a post on the Silph Road subreddit. A significant section of my local community said the game was now unplayable due to the most recent update. The splash screen and loading screen will play when the fun first starts; however, after that, there is nothing but a dark screen that cannot be fixed. The game will function momentarily if you remove it and then reinstall it, but as soon as you start the app again, it will return to the black screen. The problem affects both iOS and Android devices. Since you can hardly play the game if this problem impacts you, it would be wise not to upgrade to the latest version now.

Others swiftly joined the conversation in the comments to discuss their recent Pokemon Go experiences. Many admitted that they were also seeing blank screens. I recently correctly logged in and played, but now I’m experiencing the same problem. After loading, I closed the app and am now stuck at the black screen. Yesterday’s update to the app, a user remarked. I’m experiencing the same problem, another person commented. It seems that closing and opening the app again may get it to load, but this is inconsistent, and I’ve sometimes had to repeat this process four or five times to get beyond the black screen. Niantic still needs to comment on the problem on social media, but we’ll keep you informed if they do. Visit our Pokemon Go site for additional information and other trending articles.
