Apex Legends Pro Albralelie Returns to Competitive Play, Joins FURIA for ALGS Last Chance Qualifier
Before the Last Chance Qualifier for the 2023 ALGS Championship, Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith has returned to top-tier competitive play in Apex Legends by taking over for the retiring Jacob ‘HisWattson‘ McMillin on FURIA. Albralelie has moved around several lineups after departing TSM’s professional team in 2020, including Liquid, Cloud9, and FaZe Clan. He has yet to, however, be a consistent member of a roster throughout this time.
Albralelie gets a fresh chance after HisWattson announced his retirement from professional gaming immediately after FURIA’s disappointing elimination from the Split 2 Playoffs. Albralelie joins the squad in time for the LCQ. Due to FURIA’s playoff performance, they fell short of the top 30 cut-off for automatic qualifying for the Championship. Instead, beginning on July 21, they must compete in the LCQ.
Albralelie enlists with FURIA
Albralelie is not merely a stand-in for FURIA, unlike many of his prior teams; instead, he is joining more permanently. “We’ve found our third for the LCQ and beyond,” FURIA said after the agreement was revealed. Welcome to FURIA Apex, Albralelie, our newest member.
Albralelie is a well-known figure in Apex who, like the departing HisWattson, takes his time away from the action to continue building his stream as a content producer for TSM. The team, which includes Nelson ‘Xeratricky’ Medina and Scott ‘Pandxrs’ Maynard, will need to gel fast as they take on some tough opponents in the LCQ only days after Albralelie’s signing.
Albralelie, who is she?
Alb, who won with TSM in the first Apex Legends Preseason Invitational in 2019, the first big tournament produced by EA and Respawn, with a $500,000 prize pool, will be well-known to competitive Apex Legends players from the game’s early days. The early TSM group, including ImperialHal and Reps, still with the organization today, secured their reputation thanks to this competition.
Albralelie decided to leave Apex for Valorant in an unexpected statement in October 2020. But a few weeks later, he signed on as a stand-in for Team Liquid Apex. Albralelie said the 2021 ALGS Championship – NA could be his last competition in Apex after a poor 17th-place showing. However, further fill-in assignments with C9 and FaZe came after. Albralelie now gets a second opportunity to show that he still has the firepower that made him famous, thanks to FURIA.
