Sentinels Apex Legends Roster Undergoes Changes Ahead of ALGS LCQ

Before the North American ALGS LCQ, Sentinels Apex Legends IGL Cole ‘Rkn’ Prommel declared that the team had released Keon ‘Keon’ Berghout. Sentinels’ IGL revealed that Keon would be released on June 9. Therefore the team will search for a new third player for their Apex Legends squad. Sentinels have been “barred from scrims” for the previous two weeks, according to Rkn’s announcement, because they won’t be regarded as an LCQ team until the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs are over.

Rkn claims that this caused the club to change the roster because they could not resolve their problems through in-game practice. According to Rkn, he and Keon have different ideas about how Apex Legends should be played. As a result, they have made adjustments to improve the team dynamic, but ultimately a roster change was required. The timing of the change was for the player’s advantage so that he was not left without a team at the last minute before the competition started. According to the Sentinels IGL, who said there is no “ill will” towards Keon. The North American region’s Last Chance Qualifier for the 2023 ALGS Championship is scheduled to start on July 21.

On March 10, 2023, Rkn and Keon switched to the Sentinels. But they have yet to be able to duplicate their success with The Guard. As one of the top North American Apex Legends teams in 2022, The Guard, comprised of Rkn, Keon, and Beau ‘RamBeau’ Sheidy, finished third overall in the first split of the North American ALGS and qualified for Split 1 Playoffs.

The team finished in the top twenty at the international competition. The team’s performance declined after joining Sentinels and losing RamBeau to a premature retirement less than a month later. They finished 15th in the second split and missed the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs. Sentinels are now searching for a third player for the LCQ to compete with Rkn and Angello ‘Xenial’ Cadenas. Keon is a free agent and is open to alternative offers from ALGS teams.
