Controversy Erupts as Warzone 2’s Weekly Playlist Update Neglects Solo and Small Squad Players
In the most recent weekly playlist update, Raven Software introduced all three Warzone 2 maps, but a caveat enraged community members. A weekly playlist rotation method is used in Warzone 2. The battle royale sequel’s game modes, terrain, and squad sizes are all updated weekly by Raven Software. Conversely, players criticized the developers for consistently ignoring solos, duos, trios, and quads.
Al Mazrah’s only squad size option in Warzone 2 was unavailable for several weeks. The fact that Ashika Island only opened with quads while the map had previously promoted all squad sizes prompted players to accuse the developers of “lying” in the past. This time, the removal of various alternative squad sizes from the three battle royale maps has angered players.
Players of Warzone 2 criticize the developers for “driving business away”
Raven Software announced the weekly Warzone playlist on July 5. Players on Al Mazrah can only queue in quads for a typical battle royale encounter. On Vondel, there are just solos and trios. On Ashika Island, players are limited to playing in yards. Limiting squad numbers harms players who want to play alone or with a small group of pals. A map they dislike playing is a further insult if their chosen team size is restricted. More than 700 people left comments on the page, many expressing displeasure with the choice.
Can we please leave in BR solos after a third consecutive week with no solos in the regular Warzone 2 battle royale? Why am I unable to play the game alone? Like-minded users expressed the same opinion. “At what point do you guys get tired of seeing solo players fill up your playlist post comments?” a second irate forum member questioned. “I’m beginning to think none of this game was ever designed for the solo player,” said another disgruntled solo player. Warzone 2’s weekly playlist rotation method will be around for a while. If players want to change right now, their best option is to keep raising their voices on social media.
