Pro Player Mande Critiques Apex Legends Changes, Expresses Desire to Compete Again

Mikkel ‘Mande’ Hestbek, a TSM live stream, says he wants to resume playing Apex Legends competitively, but he has a few complaints about the alterations Respawn made to the battle royale. As with any esports, some professionals choose to pursue other endeavors after a period of competition, whether it be switching to a different game entirely or just playing a little less competitively.

Mande, a Danish star who has recently played for several different clubs, has yet to participate in competitions since the London 2023 ALGS Split 1 Playoff. There, he represented Alliance, but since then, he has turned to streaming for TSM as a sub. He has stated that he would eventually like to compete again, but only when Respawn adjusts.

Mande desires to play in Apex Legends but must first witness changes

During a recent stream, competing emerged, and some viewers questioned if Mande still had the “passion” for competing. The Dane remarked, “They just don’t know how to make a f*cking game. I didn’t lose my passion for comp.” Do I skip class?” I do. However, I will play it once they understand how to create a legitimate f*cking game.  Because I have to play this game every day and give it my all to be the best, why would I play comp right now and make myself sad and f*cking depressed? It’s the most OP dogs they’ve ever added to the game, so you must repeatedly sit down and play Seer and the same f*cking firearms.

He also agreed with ImperialHal’s assessment that the recent Seer nerfs had the opposite effect, buffing the Recon legend, which will soon require attention. Mande added that once Respawn implements a “good system” for Predator, he must resume his quest to defeat it. We must thus wait and see how long exactly that takes.
