Valorant Player TenTen Released for Racial Remarks: NORTHEPTION Faces Controversy

TenTen, a professional Valorant player for NORTHEPTION, has been let off his contract due to racial comments he made while competing in a rated match. On Twitter, he has issued an apology for the words he made. NORTHEPTION canceled TenTen’s contract because of racial remarks he made on July 4 while playing a pug battle with other Asian players, according to a statement released by Kazuhiro Owa, the club’s CEO. NORTHEPTION provided the information.

The decision was made after a video of a heated altercation between TenTen and Saibani ‘fl1pzjder’ Rahmad, affiliated with Rex Regum Qeon, went popular on Twitter. Following a brief verbal dispute between the two, TenTen is overheard shouting “f**k India” to fl1pzjder, originally from Indonesia. This is taken to be an insult. “The racist comments made this time are unacceptable under any circumstance. And we take the situation very seriously,” said NORTHEPTION about the recent incidents. “We sincerely apologize for any discomfort or concern this may have caused.”

TenTen was the best-performing player on the squad in the Valorant Challengers Japan league, the second-tier company in Japan, before NORTHEPTION signed him in November 2022. The Korean Duelist finished fifth or sixth in both splits they competed in, averaging a 1.24 rating in the first split and a 1.22 rating in the second split. Since the beginning of 2021, the Japanese esports organization known as NORTHEPTION has competed in the Valorant tournament. The previous year, their team competed in the VCT Stage 2 Masters in Copenhagen, finishing in ninth or tenth place.

TenTen responds to the release of NORTHEPTION

TenTen has apologized to anyone hurt by his statements, which he has referred to as “inappropriate.” The apology was posted on Twitter. “As a professional player and person, I deeply regret that I made unforgivable remarks,” he stated in the letter. “I deeply regret that I made unforgivable remarks.” “Like everyone else on the team, I take the consequences seriously. I do apologize.

The story arrives when racism in Asian Valorant has emerged as a prominent issue of discussion. This past week, a player for RNG named Ali ‘Swerl’ Kobraee made an allegation on Twitter that he was subjected to racial harassment during the Valorant Champions China Qualifier. After some time, he decided to delete the tweet since there was an “ongoing investigation” into the charges he made.
