BlizzCon Ticket Prices Spark Discontent Among World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch Players

Blizzard has announced the dates for the sale of BlizzCon tickets, but players of World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch are dissatisfied with the prices of the keys. This November marks the long-awaited return of the in-person BlizzCon convention after a hiatus of four years; during the event, Blizzard Entertainment plans to make some significant announcements and honor its most successful franchises.

The admission price makes many gamers uncomfortable, even though they look forward to seeing old acquaintances in person and participating in live events. Fans of Blizzard games believe the experience is not worthwhile because regular admission costs $299.99, and a “Portal Pass” that includes a few goodies costs a whopping USD 799.99. Both of these prices are in US dollars.

After the ticket costs for BlizzCon were revealed, commentary quickly swept throughout the various gaming forums, with many gamers expressing dissatisfaction with the ticket prices.

Only Overwatch will be allowed to be played in competitive esports, according to a post made by a player on the Diablo subreddit. The Overwatch World Cup and its final eight teams will return at BlizzCon 2023, but earlier BlizzCons also featured StarCraft and other important tournaments. BlizzCon 2023 will be held in November. Others commented on how the price has increased over the past few years, with one World of Warcraft player recalling that they purchased their first BlizzCon ticket for just $100. Kristen Rae, an Overwatch streamer, said, “What the f**k are they smoking over there?”

“Blizzard employees can be met for a fee of eight hundred dollars!” An Overwatch fan mocked another by saying, in a sarcastic tone, “For an extra $100, they take you in the back to browse through the break room fridge,” referring to the fact that nursing employees frequently had their breast milk taken from them. It remains to be seen how well the tickets sell once they are put up for sale on July 8 and July 22, but if this response is any indicator, a significant number of fans opt to watch the event from the comfort of their homes.
