The Titan Vanguard Zavala, who has overseen numerous missions for The Last City, is a figure that Destiny players have all praised as fantastic. Unfortunately, the community was unsure whether or not we would hear beloved voice actor Lance Reddick’s voice in the expansion after his untimely death. For the time being, it is still a mystery. However, a senior narrative designer at Bungie recently disclosed that the recent dialogue for this week’s seasonal assignment includes the last lines they had recorded with Lance before he passed away.

Listening to the last radio talk in the HELM today was a sobering experience. The final lines I ever recorded with Lance were these. It says in the tweet. However, the developer noted that they don’t record lines chronologically. So it’s unclear if these are the last words we’ll ever hear from Lance in-game. Additionally, there is only one developer involved in this. There’s always a chance that Lance recorded several pieces of content along the route with other Bungie employees.
This particular developer answered when pressed for confirmation on whether these were the final sentences Lance ever recorded. “Perhaps both? Unsure. However, I’m confident that the radio session we taped with Lance was the last one. While remembering that we don’t record stuff chronologically, there may be something. However, what I said stands, as those were the final lines I recorded with Lance. This statement suggests that, despite Zavala still being a crucial character in the game, we might have yet to hear all of the lines the late voice actor recorded. As we get closer to the Final Shape, we should expect to hear more from Bungie.
