Throughout the VCT Masters Tokyo tournament, participants consistently indicated a preference for one of the two main Valorant rifles. In Valorant, players can either gain a feel for the Vandal or the Phantom as they play, and the choice of which rifle to use is a matter of personal preference. The rifles each have applications in which one would be more suitable than the other; nonetheless, comfort is the primary consideration when deciding which to employ in most situations.
At the professional level, players choose their weapons based on the video game’s circumstances, such as the size of the map or their assigned duty. However, they each have a specific firearm that they favor more than the others. According to rib.gg, professional players at the VCT Masters Tokyo chose the non-hushed rifle known as the Vandal over the silenced rifle known as the Phantom in 58% of the rounds played during the event. This seems to be part of a more significant trend in the professional area since previous tournaments have indicated that players prefer the Vandal over the Phantom. Additionally, this is part of a more significant trend in the amateur space.
Players at the VCT Masters Tokyo tournament strongly preferred one gun over the other
The professionals at VCT LOCK//IN favored the Vandal, even more than the amateurs. Players chose the Vandal in 61% of rounds, while the Phantom was determined in 39%. Since that competition was lengthier than the Masters Tokyo and featured a more varied collection of competing teams, the results may be slightly exaggerated. However, this pattern can also be observed in the VCT international leagues.
The Vandal was chosen by players in 7,422 rounds throughout the VCT Americas regular season, whereas the Phantom was selected in 6,973 games. The results are consistent across all regions, as VCT EMEA and VCT Pacific professionals chose Vandal in 63% and 55% of games, respectively. In most in-game situations, the Vandal’s one-shot headshots and impressive strength at long ranges may make it the weapon of choice for pros. While this may not always be the case, they may choose the Vandal over the Phantom.
