Team Liquid Restructures CS:GO Roster, Parting Ways with EliGE and Shifting Focus to Europe

Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, a senior player on Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad, was let go by the esports organization as it restructured its roster to focus on players from Europe. Team Liquid confirmed the news. After announcing that it is parting ways with long-time squad member EliGE, squad Liquid has stated that it intends to shift its CS:GO lineup from North America to Europe. In addition, the organization noted that the Bulgarian professional player Aleks ‘Rainwaker’ Petrov and the Russian competitor Robert ‘Patsi’ Isyanov would be joining the roster.

As a result of Nicholas ‘nitr0’ Cannella’s decision to leave the Team Liquid roster, only two players from North America are now competing for the team. Moving the future, the team will likely take part in RMR competitions held in Europe. Since joining Team Liquid in 2015, EliGE has been a part of the organization through successful and unsuccessful seasons of competition in the North American region. “We feel deep gratitude to Jon and his time on TL, from a young talent to a mature adult who has helped us achieve our biggest moments: winning the Grand Slam, reaching many playoff stages, and even creating one of the greatest CS memes,” Team Liquid wrote in its announcement about the player’s departure.

EliGE was one of the members of Team Liquid’s esports teams and creator lineups who had been with the organization for the most extended time. Since 2017, the player from North America has made it onto HLTV’s list of the top 20 players on five separate occasions, establishing himself as one of the most talented players to emerge from the region.

2018 EliGE won the Americas Minor Championship and the Intel Grand Slam while playing for Team Liquid. Additionally, EliGE won many seasons of the ESL Pro League. Additionally, EliGE was an integral part of Liquid’s participation in several CS:GO Majors. As of when this article was written, the player has not made any public comments on the move. It is currently unknown whose team he will play for in the future; however, several organizations located in North America are likely to attempt to sign him before the competitive circuit starts.
