Following the rollout of a new patch, it has been reported that Fortnite players can no longer delete Victory Crowns from their accounts. Crowns were introduced into Fortnite during Chapter 3, Season 1 by Epic Games, giving players a new method to show off their achievements and earn bonus experience points.
Those who win a Victory Royale are eligible to receive the one-of-a-kind item as a reward for their efforts. Players have more opportunities to get the golden-colored bragging privilege if they pick up a Crown that another player has dropped. Interestingly, any participant in the match who possesses the item makes themselves an easy target for their adversaries. This explains why some players don’t appreciate Crowns in their inventory, and a recent update might have made the situation even more problematic.
In Fortnite, players no longer have the option to throw away their Victory Crowns
A user who goes by the moniker Known_Focus_1065 recently commented on the Fortnite subreddit that they cannot remove Crowns from their inventory now. According to the player, the problem most likely started after the patch for Fortnite was released on the 20th of June. It has yet to be determined if this is a strange bug or a decision made on purpose by Epic; neither of these possibilities has been ruled out.
Dedicated players of Fortnite are not happy with the most recent disclosure for various reasons, regardless of the causes themselves. Many individuals are dissatisfied that they will no longer be able to give Victory Crowns to their friends or other players in Fortnite. Others, on the other hand, oppose the thought of being made to go about their daily lives carrying a target on their backs. A user expressed frustration by saying, “Having the crown is disadvantageous. I’m constantly becoming worse at close-quarters combat, so I spend a lot of time hiding. The crown glints and it reveals your identity.”
A comment that is quite similar to this one states, “We usually drop ours because they make you an easier target, but we haven’t been winning anyway, so it doesn’t matter, lmao.” Whether it was an accident or not, we can only hope Epic Games will make their position regarding Victory Crowns known sooner rather than later.
