Pathfinder’s Solo Queue Struggles: HisWattson’s Tier List and the Challenges of Playing Alone

As of Season 17, there are 24 Legends in Apex Legends, which offers a wide range of characters. Numerous elements, like skills and various hitboxes, make one character preferable.

Characters like Pathfinder, Octane, and Wraith have emerged as the most well-liked Legends in Season 17 due to their skills and performance in the video game’s dynamic meta. Pathfinder, however, feels “horrible” to play when solo queueing, according to professional Apex Legends player Jacob ‘HisWattson’ McMillin, because of one essential feature.

In HisWattson’s opinion, Pathfinder is not ideal for a single play

HisWattson tweeted his Apex Legends Solo Queue Tier List on June 11, 2023. Loba, Horizon, Bangalore, Octane, and Wraith were among the top performers. Pathfinder wasn’t far behind at the top of B-Tier, but the pro player was adamant that heroes with big hitboxes are “just a massive L.”

“If your hitbox is 2x bigger than someone else, you have to average 2x more value from your abilities,” he continued, “which just doesn’t happen.” If a Legend’s hitbox is more significant than typical, enemies will find it simpler to hit that Legend.  As a result, heroes like Wraith have an inherent advantage over Legends like Pathfinder, Vantage, and Gibby. But the professional player added, “Characters with low mobility are also pretty useless,” which undoubtedly propelled Pathfinder up the list quite a bit. Vantage is not at the top of the list, according to TSM Raven, who also argued that her mobility and “hitscan sniper” are advantages in solo queue battles.

If you play very passively, but sometimes you have to be a gigachad, and the enormous hitbox feels awful, the FURIA player retorted. Vantage and Pathfinder feel so terrible for me. A Legends’ special abilities play a part in matches, even though performance ultimately boils down to pure talent.
