FlyQuest Expands Esports Program with Acquisition of Former CLG Red Valorant and CS:GO Teams

To grow its esports program, FlyQuest has announced the acquisition of the former CLG Red Valorant and CS:GO teams, now known as FlyQuest Red. There are few esports players on the FlyQuest roster. The organization only has a few Super Smash Bros. players signed to its brand and a team in the LCS; otherwise, only a little is known about it. On June 1, FlyQuest announced the signing of two women’s rosters for Valorant and CS:GO as part of the growth of its esports division.

Following the closure of CLG, a long-running esports brand, and organization, and its acquisition by NRG Esports, the green esports organization acquired the old CLG Red squads in both tactical shooters. Also, after the purchase, NRG declined to sign any teams or players from CLG, except for the League of Legends squad and LCS berth, leaving the two CLG Red lineups without a place to call home. The former CLG Red Twitter account and teams have been rebranded as FLY RED, with FlyQuest in charge.

Former members of CS:GO’s FlyQuest and CLG Red Valorant are signed

When the women’s CS:GO team entered the competitive scene in 2015, CLG Red was born. Its lineup includes players that are still active in the esports sector today. In 2021, the company joined Valorant and gave the Riot Games-run Game Changers circuit a shot. The Valorant team was signed by Moist Moguls for the duration of the first Game Changers event of 2023, while the CS:GO team carried on without an organization under the name Red Ded Redemption after CLG’s death.

With FlyQuest, both teams have now discovered a new, permanent home. The transition to FlyQuest, according to the former director of marketing at CLG, was made possible with the assistance of Greg Kim, the former CEO of CLG, and Stephanie “Missharvey” Harvey, one of the founding members of CLG Red and currently the director of FLY RED. The announcement has been favorably greeted by the CLG Red brand’s supporters and the larger esports community. At Game Changers Series II, spectators will see the Valorant team make its esports debut.
