Unexpected Interruption: DJ at Rave Asks Crowd for Destiny 2 Raid Checkpoint

A DJ playing at a rave stopped in the middle of their performance to inquire among the partygoers about whether or not anyone had the checkpoint to a Destiny 2 raid monster. The video game Destiny 2 has the potential to be quite addicting. Bungie has a way of keeping players interested in their looter shooter by offering them the ability to acquire new god rolls for their weapons and armor, in addition to the possibility of developing a new exotic item that can be used to finish out their build. The average player of Destiny 2 will spend hundreds of hours grinding to perfect their Guardian and construct the most influential bodies possible.

Certain exotics can only be obtained by finishing the most challenging content that Destiny 2 offers, called a raid. Raids need a fire team of up to six members to coordinate their way through a long-form dungeon and defeat the boss at the end to receive special rewards. However, players are not required to finish everything in a single sitting, as doing so will result in them receiving a checkpoint that will allow them to return to the game later to finish everything.

Some players use the game’s checkpoint feature to reserve checkpoints for other players. This allows those people to skip ahead to a specific encounter inside the raid and keep it for themselves. Also, DJ Gammer, a player participating in Sydney’s Midnight Mafia music festival at the time, was one of those people aiming to claim a particular checkpoint.

Around 25 minutes into their performance, Gammer displayed their enthusiasm for the video game Destiny by inquiring about a highly obscure topic. “Hey, which of you has the Atheon checkpoint?” proclaimed the host or DJ. Despite the fact that the reference was likely lost on the majority of partygoers in attendance, Destiny followers would have been ecstatic to find another Guardian in attendance at the event.

In light of the fact that the Root of Nightmares was the most recent raid in Destiny, it is unclear why DJ Gammer was explicitly seeking the Atheon checkpoint. However, players of Destiny 2 all across the world are keeping their fingers crossed that they will soon be able to get their hands on that elusive Vex Mythoclast.
