Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the developers of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, declared that they are both “interested” in seeing the Zelda franchise turned into a movie or TV show.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has finally been released after six years of development. Due in large part to the fantastic new features that fully promote player innovation and a limitless supply of imagination, the sequel to the highly acclaimed Breath of the Wild is already creating waves in the gaming industry. It already has some of the best reviews of any video game ever.
According to our review of Tears of the Kingdom, “Zelda is not much a tearful goodbye from its historical past. But a fresh new beginning – one that embraces the building blocks set down by its predecessor. And transforms them to push this beloved action-adventure series further ever forward.” With this success, fans ask whether Nintendo might be interested in creating a Legend of Zelda TV series or film. After all, the most recent Super Mario Bros. movie has been a huge hit, both with audiences and financially.
The developers of The Legend of Zelda are interested in a Super Mario Bros.-style movie adaptation
Eiji Aonuma, the producer of Tears of the Kingdom, and Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the director, said recently in an interview with Polygon that they would be interested in seeing a Zelda movie in the future. “I must admit that I am curious. Of course. Unfortunately, Aonuma said it’s not just my curiosity in something that brings about events. “Perhaps the fans’ voice is important here,” Fujibayashi continued.
Only time will tell if a Zelda movie is the upcoming major Nintendo franchise to receive the adaptation treatment. But given the size of Tears of the Kingdom, it’s probable that players will be preoccupied for weeks with this new game.
